The winter is finally finishing. It has been a cold one! Now is the time when we should boost our immune system. Low levels of vitamin D after the dark winter days do not help to fight the upcoming pollen surge. It would be good to start taking sun baths and vitamin D supplements these coming (rainy?!) weeks.
Stress is also our constant enemy. High levels of the stress hormone cortisol decrease our ability to keep our immune system in check. Here is where diet is key to balance the act. Decreasing sugar intake and upping your vegetable intake will help.
Sadly, sometimes we could miss the curve of balance and end up with an immune disease. Thyroid imbalances, lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, diabetes type 1 are examples of diseases that could self attack your body. It is a complex mechanism that needs to be understood at the root. It could all start from a vitamin deficiency, a heavy metal overload, a virus or genetic sensibilities. The contributing factors could be multiple.
A long term protocol to boost the immune system may bring balance in the over stimulated antibody machinery. Good sleep, enough sunshine, peaceful moments, a greener and ecofriendly diet will help an immune boosting protocol to be efficient.
