About Fathia Selmi – Ayurveda & Wellness Coaching, Chelsea SW10
Fathia Selmi is a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner registered with the Association of Ayurvedic Professionals (AAP) and the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT). She trained at the Ayurvedic Institute in London under Dr Deepika (BAMS) and additionally holds a diploma in Psychodynamic Theory from WPF London – giving her a sound theoretical framework for the counselling and coaching dimension of her work.
Fathia is a committed yoga practitioner with over 15 years of personal practice and regularly visits India for Ayurvedic retreats and continuing professional development. She joined Chelsea Natural Health in 2026, bringing Ayurvedic medicine to the clinic’s already broad range of complementary therapies.
Ayurveda – often described as the sister science of yoga – is one of the world’s oldest systems of natural medicine, developed in India over 5,000 years ago. It works by identifying each person’s unique constitutional type (their dosha) and the specific imbalances currently present, then creating a personalised plan that may incorporate diet, herbs, lifestyle adjustments, specific body therapies, yoga and meditation. Unlike most complementary approaches, Ayurveda addresses the totality of a person’s health rather than a single presenting complaint.
Conditions Fathia works with
- Stress, fatigue and burnout
- Anxiety and low mood
- IBS, acid reflux and digestive complaints
- Arthritis and joint stiffness
- Insomnia and poor sleep
- Weight management
- Headaches and migraines
- Skin and respiratory conditions
- Menopausal symptoms
- General health optimisation
What an Ayurvedic consultation involves
An initial consultation with Fathia lasts 60 minutes. She begins with a thorough case history covering your general health, medical background, diet and lifestyle. Traditional Ayurvedic diagnostic tools are used – including pulse reading, tongue examination and nail assessment – to understand your constitutional type and the specific imbalances present. Fathia then creates a personalised wellness plan addressing diet, daily routine, lifestyle adjustments and – where appropriate – herbal remedies (prescribed at additional cost). Follow-up appointments at 30 minutes monitor progress and adjust the programme as your health improves.
How Ayurveda differs from other therapies at the clinic
Where treatments like osteopathy or acupuncture tend to address a specific complaint, Ayurveda with Fathia takes the broadest possible view – diet, lifestyle, daily routine and mental state are all part of the picture. It complements rather than competes with other treatments at the clinic. Many clients use it as a coherent framework for how to live in a way that supports their health long-term, alongside their other treatments. Compare also Khalda Mohammed’s Western herbal medicine for an herbal approach from a different tradition.
