What is NLP?
Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) encompasses the three most influential components involved in producing human experience: neurology, language and patterning.
We are constantly in contact with the external world through our five senses: sight, sound, touch, smell and taste. Our neurology takes these external stimuli and presents them to us with a matching set of internal representations – these form our subjective experience and shape our feelings and emotions. We are constantly having conversations, dialogues and arguments with ourselves and it is this internal dialogue which helps us to decide how we feel about situations, experiences and those people around us.
Our experience is created by combinations of all of these factors but our internal dialogue can often form negative repeating thought patterns or programmes. These negative thought patterns affect our perceptions: How we feel on the inside will affect how we approach situations and how we come across to other people.
Unless they are interrupted or changed these negative thought patterns keep running over and over again – like a CD playing the same song on repeat. In time they can have a negative affect on how we feel about ourselves and keep us from fulfilling our potential. NLP can change these thought patterns and turn them into something positive.
NLP can be used for many problems including:
– Setting personal and professional goals
– Weight loss
– performing at your best
– overcoming phobias
– improving your confidence, and
– boosting self esteem.
With NLP you can learn how to take control of your emotions, feel good about yourself and manage your life.
