Serena is an acupuncturist and Tui Na masseuse who has a firm belief and a strong track record in helping to right a variety of ailments and energy complaints.  After graduating from the London Collage of Traditional Acupuncture (LCTA) she gained postgraduate training in pregnancy, fertility, IVF support and post-natal care and thoroughly enjoys treating and helping with these conditions.  She is a member of the Acupuncture for Childbirth team (ACT).  Serena also has quality experience in treating stress disorders, such as anxiety, as well as sleep, digestive and energy disorders.   Although her background is in Traditional Chinese Medicine she is interested in working alongside western medicine and is a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.

Acupuncture is more than just needles and Serena uses a combination of auxiliary techniques to support her treatments.  These include cupping, gua sha, moxa, electro-acupuncture, plum blossom needle technique and a massage called Tui Na.  Tui Na has been practiced in the East for many hundreds of years.  Acupuncture actually originated from Tui Na so the theory of treatment and pressure points used complement an acupuncture treatment or replace it if there is a fear of needles.  Before any supporting technique is used there is a thorough explanation so please do not hesitate to ask if you have any questions.

Serena is committed to bringing acupuncture into the mainstream medical system by regularly attending seminars in both western and Chinese medicine.  She believes by working closely together, referring when necessary for appropriate scans, blood test etc., we can create effective results and maximum support for every individual.  Serena also works closely with ones bloody type and the diet that is appropriate for each individual.  This is achieved by looking at both the Chinese energetic of foods as well as which foods complement ones blood type. Pregnancy Thai Yoga Massage is a wonderful type of massage that can be experienced safely and happily throughout pregnancy. It utilises massage techniques along with acupressure, reflexology and yoga methods to help the body and mind relax and improve the natural flow of energy. This helps to remove blockages and allow a free flow of energy which places the body back into balance thereby improving health and healing.

Thai Pregnancy massage can be performed with the mother lying on her side which is very comfortable especially during the later months of pregnancy. Changes in body shape and increased weight often causes postural imbalances during pregnancy. This leads to backache, calf and leg pain and tension in the shoulders. Pregnancy thai massage is very effective in releasing tension in the back and calf muscles and improving general body alignment and posture. It is relaxing and at the same time energising

Pregnancy Thai Yoga Massage can help reduce water retention, especially around the feet and ankles and improves the blood circulation. It can also safely support the inducement of an overdue baby.

Thai yoga massage is great at relieving the lower back of all those aches and pains associated with the weight of carrying the little one(s) and is very effective at relieving sciatica and leg tension. At the end of the massage a serene sense of calm and and yet revitalisation are shared by both mother and baby.
